The specification for the psychodynamic approach

Post by Admin on Wed Sep 03, 2008 3:07 pm

For the psychodynamic approach it will be necessary to focus upon:
the main assumptions of the approach
how the psychodynamic approach can be applied in one form of therapy (either dream therapy or free association);
how the psychodynamic approach can be applied to Freud's theory of personality development;
the strengths and weaknesses of the psychodynamic approach;
the similarities and/or differences of this approach compared to others(compare and contrast);
an explanation and evaluation of the methodology of the psychodynamic approach.

Freud is unsupported by evidence, so we don't know if he is right or wrong and no way of telling.

I am learning about Freud and i think that he is just a little bit out there(basically i think he is a little bit mad but still very interesting point of view)

Hi Shortbread, welcome to the forum. Smile
Yes, a lot of my students would agree with you about Freud being a little bit mad but interesting. Smile

Will we be required to explain all these points in the exam today?

No for the exam you will only be asked about certain areas, but you need to know them all because we don't know what the questions are.
